  Maurice Postcard, Transcript   [Cold wind]   Maurice: The sound of silence is not necessarily a good thing. It's more of a condemnation of Canada's work on M S : multiple sc lerosis . Can ada should be doing more. I'm here and they haven't really figured this out. Don't really know about M S . I'm told that I just sort of fit in. I would rather stay in my room, but they don't allow me to do that. [Sounds of dining room] Because they want me downstairs for meals . J ust between me and you , I'm 57, but thankfully I don't l ook it. But here , everybody else is much older than me.    [Door opening and closing]. The opening and closing of one's life. That's wh at I get from that .    [Sounds of basketball in gym] I was very athletic before I got sick. Some of the guys I used to play with played for the R aptors .   Jackie, Postcard Transcript   [Sound of stick on fence slats]   Jackie: That's my life. I'm going to be here today, gone tomorrow. So whatever it is you say, you better say it fast. (laughter)   Researcher: Right .   [Music]   Jackie: I'm 85. When I want to scare people, I say, "O h no, I'm 185. " (Laughter) And , uh... [Music stops] I don't think I'll live until I'm 200, that's for sure. There are a lot of silences . I get very nervous when there's silence. I get very agitated. " Somebody say something !" I'm expecting the worst. I'm expecting the worst. And , uh, if it doesn't happen for a long time, I go for an inspection tour. Where is everybody? What are you doing?    Researcher: Right.    Jackie: And I had first thought that I was going to use the technique that they use here for people who don't want to live anymore.
